2) This Sunday 7/20 will be Beer & Biking 2. It will begin at the Corner Stable in Columbia at 10:00 AM. Their website is http://www.cornerstable.com. From there the group will bike to Union Jack’s and/or Clyde’s, Second Chance, and then back to Corner Stable.
3) There is a co-op in Catonsville with a storefront, produce, etc. There will be a beer tasting / fundraiser for it, called Home Town Brew Down, on Saturday August 2 from 2-6 PM at 120 Forest Drive in Catonsville. Here’s an opportunity to share your homebrew and educate people about it while helping out a worthy cause. 4) MASHOUT registration is open. It will be held at an organic hop farm called Organarchy, not far from the old site. Go to http://www.campmashout.com to register. This year’s CRABS food competition will be balls. Any kind of balls: meat balls, rum balls, crab balls, salty balls, Schweddy balls...
5) Battle of the Brews will be this weekend at the Delaware State Fair. If you’d like to judge, see http://www.delawarestatefair.com/events/2014/battle-of-the-brews-home-brew-contest-judging for info.
6) Crabs4CRABS will be on Sunday 9/14 at the usual place.
7) The Guild crab feast will be on Saturday 9/20 at Ridgely’s Run Community Center in Jessup. See http://www.ridgelysrun.org for the center’s website. An announcement will be made when registration is open.
8) Baltimore Beer Week will be October 10-19. There will be many events including ChiliBrew, homebrew showcase at Little Havana, tap handle turning at Mark Supik’s, a gruit competition, and a “pros versus joes” beer competition at Bertha’s. Stay tuned for details.
9) For the Guild picnic next year on 6/6/2015, we finally got shelter 300 again, with the fridge and sink.
10) This month’s competition was the same-grain-and-hop competition. Winners were:
